Pep Boys Auto Parts & Service

I had just purchased a used car that has been sitting for quite some time. As I was driving home, the clutch have gotten stuck to the floor. I drove immediately to Pep Boys to have the situation assessed. I told them what had happened and they came out to the parking lot to look at my car. Without even turning the car on, the mechanic said that I needed to have the whole clutch assembly replaced. I went into the shop and they said that it would cost about $1,600! I did not go through with the repairs and took it to another mechanic to assess the problem. The second location look at the problem and assured me that my clutch was fine. Because it was sitting for a while, it just needed to be lubed and loosened up a bit. I thank God that there are some honest people in this world. Pep Boys on Route 42 should be ashamed of themselves! I would have went through with an unnecessary purchase and a very big one at that! I continue to spread word-of-mouth of this location as to what happened to me. I would never recommend anyone to this location!
