I hate to leave less than wonderful reviews but they keep e/mailing me to leave one. So... I went to Beauty Heights and met Jen. I said I was willing to cut my hair to my shoulders and do some long layers to increase volume and body. After the cut my hair barely touched my shoulders wet When it was dry it came to the middle of my neck and the top layer was about 3 inches so it tried to curl and it looked like I had a big bump on the top of my head. I had also expressed that I wasn't really comfortable with short hair and my husband doesn't like short hair but I was willing to go to the shoulders to make it have more body.
I also told her that my previous stylist didn't use much product because my hair is thin and it gets weighed down. She put a ton in and said "I'm a little snotty and like to be right". I also expressed my lack of motivation to do a great deal with my hair in the morning and that drying with the big round brush was tough for me. At one point she had the brush and dryer and wanted me to do it, I said no and she was like "try it, try it". I felt very uncomfortable. I have some issues with my neck and shoulders but I didn't really care to share that. It was an awkward moment. I had to look at her and firmly say, no. She mentioned that she teaches blow drying classes. I felt she was pretty pushy and it was uncomfortable.
When I saw the final blow dried product I was shocked. I never saw my hair look that bad. It was a style for a much younger person. I was crying when I left there and my husband said I got a boy's haircut. I am still trying to let it grow out.
We had been talking about extensions and she told me she just had to talk to the owners about a price. She said it would be 4-600 and she would call me about it. I asked what the process was and the next steps and she said she would call with the price and we would be good to go. After having my hair butchered I was desperate for the extensions. I held onto 600 after my next check and called since I never heard back from her. Now I was told it would probably be 800 and I had to come in for a consultation.
During all of this I had called to complain about the cut and they wanted me to come back in but I didn't want them to cut more off. The cut is very uneven, still, you can see it's much longer on the left side but I didn't want to make it shorter still. So after a couple of weeks I called hoping for a fix. I just wanted both sides even, I was not looking for a full real cut and I expressed that. I was told that I waited to long. They never told me that there was a time frame. I just couldn't deal with having it even shorter.
This salon is close to home for me and I was hopeful that it would be a place where I could get my monthly facials and bi weekly massages. I love the place I go now but it is a bit of a drive for me. So needless to say I was terribly disappointed. I would not recommend this place to anyone for a haircut.
I did talk to the owner who was very kind, she offered to have me come in and she would look at it but I just really did not care to return after my experience. The salon itself is beautiful and it looks like everything is brand new. Jen, who cut my hair, was fun to talk to and seemed like a nice person but I really felt like she did not hear what I was saying or what my preferences were. I was very disappointed because I really like that the salon is all organic and I really wanted the extensions they do.
